Eligible Bachelors No More

Boys will always be boys, as what the saying goes. But hear us loud. We may be flirting around more or simply playful but we sure do have a soft spot that would make you realize that yes, we can be the man of your dreams.  So here are some of the things you would rarely hear from a flamboyant, playful, naughty, and an arrogant guy about the girl he would want to bring to the altar.

1) She has to be independent…has her own mind and can decide on her own.

2) Successful in her career and flexible enough to juggle family and work.

3) Physical Attribute: 36-24-34 / or anything close to that!

4) Knows proper hygiene and brushes her teeth three times a day.

5) Number requirement: She knows how to cook.

6) Can very well compromise things and willing to bring down her ego if needed.

7) She must possess unconditional love one of the things that is hard to find nowadays.

8) She must understand that marriage is a bond shared by two people. Once you’re in that bond, she must know her priorities and that is her husband and children.

9) Must be able to preserve her beauty, charisma, touch, and figure even when married, meaning she should know how to take care of herself aesthetically speaking.

10) Lastly, loyal…honest and most importantly knows who’s her daddy! If you know what we’re saying!

Financial Despair

When I got my first job as researcher in the multi-awarded program “Jessica Soho Reports” (JSR) I was so thrilled that finally my career was moving forward. I would be contented with a ten thousand salary. That was high way back then for a fresh graduate like me.

Ok, I’m getting the right paycheck and I’m spending less. But as I move into the next level of my career, lucky for me I was promoted as Segment Producer, things changed. My monthly check doubled and my expenses rose as well. I wasn’t contented on simple things unlike when I was receiving a lower salary. I would buy just about anything. I would spend my money as if I was just buying a 100-peso item. Huh, imagine anything that is new to the market, I have them. From shoes, perfume, gadgets, I mean everything. There was an eternity of gimmick nights, drinking and playing around. Valuable things and expensive gimmicks would make me feel better but at the end of the day, I have nothing to save. That was the time when, I realized that my present salary was not enough to fuel my lifestyle. So what I did was to save. I cut down my expenses but still it wasn’t enough, I was craving for more.

Let’s continue, after two years, I was promoted as an Executive Producer. Again my salary increased. I was getting more than what I expected but still it wasn’t enough. I’m having difficulty resisting temptation. My lifestyle hasn’t changed. I would set up my car, buy a new motorbike, grab the latest cell phone and buy a new Mac Book and the list goes on and on. Now I have nothing. No money for future use just in case I would get sick or be damn part of an accident. Most probably, I would end up in the cemetery for the simple reason that I didn’t save any money. Huh! I’m tired of spending. Can someone help save before it’s too late? I have a little savings all right, but if you would calculate the amount of money that I was getting since I started my career, I would have saved a million now or even more. I just wished that someday my wicked shopping ways would disappear so finally I can plan more my life and eventually save not only my money but my life as well!

Survival Game

Surviving in the so called “man’s world” is tougher than you’ll ever think. The competition is rough and there are many restrictions to overcome to be able to survive and manage to live the next day. So if you think being a woman is harder, better think again because there’s no tougher environment than the environment we’re living in. So, here’s a list on “How I wish I wasn’t a man” line that pisses us off.

1) Clothes are scarce. We always end up on buying branded product just to be different.

2) Expectations are high. Since you’re the man in the house you should very well take care of everything.  You should act responsible, be the role model that you are and the refine individual that everyone aspires for. How the hell can we do that? Common! Get a life!

3) Men are not allowed to cry. For the love of God, we’re also human beings.

4) That men should always pay the bills. Shut up! Can we in some ways compromise things; we also have lots of financial obligations.

5) It’s always, “wait, don’t cum yet, I’ll cum first”. How pathetic! We also need to be aroused when we want…and the way we want it.

6) “If you want us to get married, then shoulder all the expenses”. What a self-centered beast! Can we just marry because you love me and set aside the monetary issues?

7) Men must have a fancy car to have it all. Oh yes it’s a given fact that women love cars but this is only what we can give you. It’s still a car, damn it take it or leave it!

8) Men should always be the one to plead and say his sorry even though it wasn’t his fault. Again, please be fair. We can’t explain everything especially if we don’t know what’s the real reason why we have to say our sorry.

9) If you smoke, drink and party hard, you’ll end up as nobody. Hell no! We’re as flexible and three dimensional as anyone else. We just know when to stop. We also have our limitations. So please don’t judge us that fast. We just know how to enjoy and still be successful.

10) Men are born polygamous. How condemnatory can you get? Of course we’re not. It’s just a matter of who is looking and how that person sees it. You’ll just have to accept the fact that we are easily aroused by our senses (eyes) but it doesn’t mean we’re having an affair or we don’t love you anymore. It stops there…after the appreciation, it’s over. Breathe, it will help!

Girl Be Mine

Let the sun shine

Let the rivers run away

Coz it’s a beautiful day now

To play now

As I close my eyes and pray

Lord have mercy on me

Coz I’m feeling kinda’ lonely

Would you be?

Could you be?

My one and only?

Took a train at a station

Almost lost my patience coz I was waiting

Damned rain delayed the train

Now I’m waiting in vain

Just want to see your face

Is this the one that I’m supposed to be afraid of?

Is this the one that I’m supposed to be ashamed of?

Hard as a rock not soft like play-do

Everytime i hear a song playing on the radio

Let the wind blow

Let the wind touch my face

I wanna take a little break now

Shake now this is what I have to say

I feel so fine, so fine that it blows my mind

Tell the truth, when will you be mine

In my dream you are so real

Inside my head is a giant screen

That plays every scene while I scream

I feel you everytime I go to sleep

Wake up in the middle of the night

And I weep…

Gotta be mine…

All it takes is a matter of time

Shut Up!

You’re probably wondering why many men choose to shut their mouth whenever there’s a confrontation or a sudden burst of emotion...It’s as simple as we don’t want to make things complicated and that everything will subside and return to its normal place once we decide to keep quiet. But there are times that we can’t help but explode and finally speak our mind. Here are the most dreaded phrases you would want to hear to a guy if he chooses to finally say what he truly feels.

1) “We’re better off as friends”

2) “It’s not you, it’s me”

3) “I need time and space”

4) “Let me be me”

5) “I cheated on you”

6) “You’re a lousy partner in bed”

7) “I love her more”

8) “You talk too much, you said too little”

9) “Will you please set me free?”

10) “This is the end of the line”

Along Came Polly

I just finished watching the movie “Along Came Polly” that starred Jenifer Aniston and Ben Stiller. Well, It brought about one important aspect in my life and that is the risk I should have done in my life a few years ago but I just refused to commit because of the fear I don’t want to encounter along the way. Actually I’ve seen the movie several times but still I profusely engaged two hours of my time savoring every bit of it. The story is nothing new, same old plot and sub-stories but one thing I like about the movie is its openness to take risks, that there’s no such thing as a planned life, for everything is changing. There is nothing constant in this world…that if you don’t live to survive you’ll never find that true happiness in life.

I’ve been afraid ever since. I’m afraid to take chances. I’ve been hurt before not once but twice and yes more than what I could ever ask for. That’s why I prefer being on the safe side because I know it’s the right thing to do. Can you blame me? I only want what’s best for me after what I’ve been through. For crying out loud, it just sucks and I don’t want to be in that situation again. A feeling of loneliness and rejection after risking and giving everything you’ve got.

But somehow along the way, after years of contemplating and convincing, I learned that if I don’t gamble my happiness, I would never be truly happy. That’s one thing I learned from the movie. Well, I guess I’m applying it in my life now. I’m starting to realize that yes I can risk my feelings not worrying that I’ll be hurt in the end. I’m now more accepting that once I risk love then I’m bound to suffer every consequence that might come along the way. It’s a choice we all have to make if we want to be happy. I don’t care much now on how I will feel if a relationship won’t work…I’m more focused on what I’ll be getting from it and what I can do to make the relationship stronger as we grow together. God is this me?

I’m probably talking on high clouds again, but thanks to this movie for enlightening me on what I could have been missing if I wasn’t able to know how to risks things in my life. I’m sure more movies like this can somehow change if not maybe influenced us a bit on how we can handle our own issues in life.  So the best thing to do, live your life to the fullest, live your life as if it’s your last day because you never know what you’ll be missing if you won’t try at all.

Sorry Doesn't Make It Anymore

I felt we had a good thing going

I thought at last I found the key

I felt my fantasy was growing…

Into a new reality…

I should have seen the whole thing coming

You were just too good to be true

Soon as you set my motor running

You simply vanished in the blue

Sorry doesn't make it anymore

I've heard it all before

Same old excuses as you walk in my door

It's all become just a bore

I've got much better things to do

Than sitting waiting here for you

I hear you say you're really changing now

Your wondering days are finally through

Well I believe it when you show me how

The messages are getting through to you
